At 61, Cathy Lynn Swingen (Beal) of Lynnwood, WA. Passed away May 31,2026 at Swedish Hospital of Edmond, with many loved ones by her side. She is survived by her three sons Scott, Brandon and Joshua; her grandson Matthias; Mother Pat; sister Debbi; brother Donnie; half-sister Gabi; half-brother Justin; Aunt Susan and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Cathy is preceded in death by her father Bill.
Cathy was a beautiful, courageous, strong willed and compassionate woman, who loved life and all it had to offer. She was born in Germany to William and Patricia Beal. A year later the family returned to Tennessee in the United States.
Up until the 4th grade, Cathy attended school in Lubbock Texas. In 1974 the family moved to Washington State.
By 1991, after many years of struggling with health issues, Cathy was diagnosed with Lupus. Not long after being diagnosed with Lupus she found out her kidneys were failing and was told she would need a kidney transplant in the near future. She was also told that she would probably not live past the age of 50. Being as determined and strong-willed as she was, she survived until the age of 61.
In her lifetime she went through two kidney transplants, with the first one failing within the first three months. After a time on dialysis, she received her second transplant with this one lasting about 11 years. Cathy almost did not survive this rejection.
After many more years of dialysis, last year health began to deteriorate quickly. She fought a long battle of trips in and out of the hospital and in a rehab facility before her body just could not take it any longer. On May 31 she went home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Cathy will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She was a shining light that will not fade. Rest in Peace Cathy.
